“Sentences of Cantonese” Experiment 「廣東話嘅句子」實驗

I am currently looking for participants for my PhD dissertation project on Cantonese in Toronto and Hong Kong. If you grew up hearing Cantonese and are living in Hong Kong or the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), you might qualify! There are two tasks in the experiment, which should take 60-75 minutes total.

In the first task, you will listen to recordings of sentences and see pictures on the screen. You will be asked to respond to questions about the sentences or the pictures using your keyboard.

In the second task, you will listen to a robot voice read lines from a play script to you and make judgements on the character’s traits based on the script’s wording.

The posters below have more details of the participation requirements. Participants who are chosen will receive a gift upon completion of the experiment.

我嘅博士論文現正招募實驗參與者，幫助我哋更了解多倫多同香港嘅廣東話有何差異變化。如果您住喺香港或者大多倫多地區，可能有資格參與！實驗有兩項任務，一共應該需要60～75分鐘完成。

喺第一項任務，您會聽到句子嘅錄音，並喺螢幕上見到圖畫。您會被問關於句子或圖畫嘅問題，要用鍵盤作答。

喺第二項任務，您會聽電腦讀出話劇嘅對白，然後您要從對白嘅用字判斷角色嘅唔同特徵。
